La Pulcina Piccola, international chicken of adventure, the bravest, boldest, most adventuresome chicken that ever lived, travels to the ends of the earth -- and beyond -- in the name of love.
Susan J. Vitucci is best known as librettist/puppet designer/performer of “Love’s Fowl” the acclaimed puppet opera, composed by Henry Krieger, featuring the puppet star, La Pulcina Piccola and the Clothespin Repertory Theatre. (New York Theatre Workshop; U.S. tour: Spoleto Festival USA, the Hopkins Center, PICA’s TBA festival, and other venues.) La Pulcina gained wide recognition from a popular feature story on public radio’s “This American Life.”
Vitucci and Krieger are currently collaborating on "Small Fish," the further adventures of "La Pulcina Piccola" and on "The Other Millay." She is a member of Dramatists Guild, Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Playwrights Unit, and a NY Theatre Workshop Usual Suspect. She also writes and produces events and conferences for corporate clients, and teaches her “Junk Drawer Drama Workshop” at colleges and universities across the country.
