Now in our 33rd year, more than 1,200 performing and media artists (and their 7,500+ collaborators) come to The Field each year to build their art practices. Under our stewardship, these artists produced 4,105 new shows for an audience of 437,619 people around the world in 2018.
Our ambitious artists include both big names and up-and-comers. They perform at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and in church basements. They make documentaries about immigration policy and puppet shows reimagining the story of Chicken Little. They get prestigious grants from the MAP Fund and they self-produce shows with budgets under $1,000.
The Field’s services are replicated in 11 cities across the U.S. and Europe – from New York to San Francisco.
