Now in our 32nd year, more than 1,600 performing and media artists (and their 6,400+ collaborators) come to The Field each year to build their art practices. Under our stewardship, these artists produced 5,383 shows for an audience of 274,595 people around the world in 2017.
Our ambitious artists include both big names and up-and-comers. They perform at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and in church basements. They make documentaries about immigration policy and puppet shows reimagining the story of Chicken Little. They get prestigious grants from the MAP Fund and they self-produce shows with budgets under $1,000.
The Field’s services are replicated in 12 cities across the U.S. and Europe – from New York to San Francisco to Vienna.
