The Field Forward Network is a consortium of artists, administrators, and organizations in 15 U.S. cities and Tokyo, Japan. The Network's mission is to create a community of independent performing artists and facilitate communication among the Network sites.

Initiated by The Field in 1992, the Network offers sites a way to connect with artists and organizations across the country; at the same time supporting local integrity and autonomy, allowing each site to tailor program offerings to best meet its specific needs.

Currently the Field Forward Network includes satellite sites in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Miami, North Adams (MA), Philadelphia, Phoenix, Raleigh (NC), Richmond (VA), Rochester (NY), Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle, Tucson, and Washington D.C.; in 1998 we also initiated our first international site in Tokyo, Japan. Each offers The Field's core workshop, Fieldwork, which helps artists get feedback and support on their developing artwork. Several sites also present Fielday, festivals of short dance, music, performance art and theater works. An annual conference held at our New York office and touring partnerships keep artists connected, helping them develop projects like alternative touring structures and residency exchange programs.

"The Field Forward Network has been critical in helping us support the artistic and professional development of South Florida artists. Without it, many of our most talented young artists would have to leave this community to go to New York to find the support and resources they need to fulfill their creative ambitions."
- Caren Rabbino - Ex-Executive Director, Miami Light Project
