Programs : Create : Space Grants - The Far Space


FAR - Field Artist Residencies provide rehearsal and showing space grants to performing artists to develop a new piece, find new ways to generate material, work on collaborative ventures, or anything that would benefit from time and space.

The FAR Space
521 West 26th Street, 2nd Floor
between 10th and 11th Avenues
Manhattan

  • 40 feet by 26 feet (approximately)
  • sprung wood floor
  • one wall of mirrors
  • 20 folding chairs
  • video/DVD/audio playback
  • simple lighting

  • Rehearsal space grants are six hours per week for four months. Showing grants provide artists with two weekends (Friday - Sunday evenings) to show developing works in an informal setting.

    Participation is by lottery!
    Drawings are held three times a year, approximately one month prior to each residency period. These periods are: January - April, May - August, and September - December. Applications for the September - December residencies will be available starting June 26 online or by contacting The Field. The next deadline is August 2 at 5 pm.

    Participation fee for the lottery is $25 for nonmembers; members apply for free! The $25 fee is transferable to any other Field program or can be used towards membership.
